Hospitalitech

Susan Chism is president and founder of Hospitalitech, a consulting and systems development firm that creates analytical software for the hospitality industry.

 

Prior to founding Hospitalitech in 2000, Ms. Chism’s hospitality career spanned more than 15 years in a variety of leadership roles combining hotel operations, marketing, accounting, and information technology, including consulting positions with Laventhol & Horwath and PricewaterhouseCoopers.  She also held operations management positions in hotel front office, marketing, catering and accounting departments for InterContinental, Marriott and Harvey Hotels, including several years as a hotel controller.  During her seven years with Bristol Hotels & Resorts, Ms. Chism headed the Budgeting and Financial Analysis, Strategic Planning and Application Development departments during the company’s growth from 9 to 135 hotels.

 

Ms. Chism received her B.S. with distinction from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University, is a member of the Cornell Hotel Society and is a past president of the Cornell Club of Houston.  She is also past president of the Houston PDD Association and volunteers as a parent support coach and advocate for children with special needs.

 

She has been quoted as an industry expert in the Houston Chronicle, Hospitality Industry News, and on ABC’s KTRK-TV news, and was the keynote speaker at the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management‘s Eta Sigma Delta Honorary Society induction.  She lives in Houston, Texas with her husband and two sons.
